Rialacha 2018

1. Caithfidh gach iontráil bheith i nGaeilge. Is féidir teangacha eile a chur san áireamh i gcomhthéacs an scéal.

2. Is é an 12 Deireadh Fómhair 2018 spriocdháta an chomórtais

3. Tá uasteorainn 2500 focal.

4. Tá sé ar oscailt do scríbhneoirí as aon áit.

5. Tá cead agat níos mó ná gearrscéal / dán amháin a bheith san iomaíocht agat ach is gá do gach iontráil a bheith lena fhoirm iarratais.

6. Is gá do gach iontráil a chlóscríobh.

7. Ba cheart an chatagóir (prós nó filíocht) a léiriú go soiléir ar an fhoirm iontrála.

8. Ní ceadmhach scéalta a leasú nó a mhalartú tar éis duit iad a chur isteach ar an chomórtas.

9. Is gá gur saothar úrnua, neamhfhoilsithe a bheadh ann agus gan é a bheith faoi mheas ag aon fhoilseachán eile.

10. Beidh na hiontrálacha a bhreithniú gan ainm; ná scríobh d'ainm ar do scéal nó dhán.

11. Níl dul thar bhreith an mholtóra agus ní bheidh comhfhreagras ina taobh.

Rules 2018

1. Entries must be in Irish. Other languages are allowed where appropriate in the context of the story.

2. The closing date for the competition is 12 October 2018.

3. The Maximum word limit per entry is 2500.

4. There are not geographic restrictions to entry.

5. More than one story or poem can be entered but each entry must be accompanied by an entry form.

6. All entries must be typed.

7. The category (prose or poetry) should be clearly marked on the entry form.

8. Once an entry has been submitted, changes or corrections are not permitted.

9. All entries must new unpublished work and it must not be in the process of publication.

10. Entries will be judged anonymously; entrants names should only appear on the entry form and not anywhere on their stories/manuscripts.

11. The judge's decision is final and no individual correspondence will be entered into.

Prizes will be awarded during the Manchester Irish Language Arts Festival 2018 and will be sent to any winners who are unable to attend the awards ceremony.

2018 Judging panel.

This year the judging panel will consist of Manchester Irish Language Group members and former members Ceallaigh Nic Coilín, Julia Walsh, Lynda Reynolds and James Byrne along with guest judge, Belfast poet Seán Ó Muireagáin.
